AFC DARWEN'S wait for a managerial appointment continues as the Salmoners prepare for tomorrow's Hallmark Security League Premier Division clash with Northwich Victoria.

Darwen have been without a manager for nearly a month since Mark Patterson resigned with the club in the relegation zone.

Since then the club have only played one match, a 4-1 reverse at Charnock Richard on December 19, due to the wet weather.

Former boss Kenny Langford, along with Lee Turner, is assisting the coaching team of Michael Worthington, Simon Littler, Dominic Walsh and Sam Walsh.

And that six will oversee the weekend home game with Northwich and are set to remain in charge for the rest of the month.

Darwen secretary Elaine Littler said: "There has been no change, we haven't had a committee meeting since and have only played one game.

"We have another meeting at the end of the month when we will decide what is the best way forward for the club."

The Salmoners are second bottom of the league, 13 points from safety and without a win in nearly two months.
