MARK Hadfield is relishing the chance to feature for the Ribblesdale League in their opening inter-league contest of the season tomorrow.

Cherry Tree's Hadfield is in the XI for the clash with the Pennine League at Ribblesdale Wanderers (1pm).

And he is delighted to have secured a spot in the side.

“While you want to do well for your club to get to represent you league is a massive honour.

“It will be my fourth experience of playing for the league team.

“I haven’t been on the winning side yet but I’m determined to put that straight on Sunday."

Hadfield is one of only three Section B players involved along with Brinscall's Sam MacLachlan and Padiham's Toby Burrows while Section A leaders Settle have four players in the team.

Hadfield added: "It’s only right that premier team in the league forms the spine of the side.”

Settle have Will and Robbie Davidson involved along with Tom Strickland and overseas amateur Sadrian Ward.

Read pair Tom Turner and Ben Gorman, Whalley's Stuart Crabtree, Oswaldtwistle Immanuel's Andreas Sudnik complete the XI.

Entry to the match is free with the contest the second in three matches in the round robin format.

The Pennine League opened up the tournament with a defeat to the Liverpool Competition who host the Ribblesdale League on Sunday, August 13.
