EAST Lancashire ace Sophie Lamb is in action at the home of golf this weekend as she lines up in the Nations Cup.

Clitheroe's Lamb is in the England team for the St Andrews alongside India Clyburn and Gemma Clews.

The event sees the trio's best two scores counting in each of the three rounds of the championship. Competitors will play 36 holes on the new course today and 18 holes on the old course tomorrow.

All three players have just been selected for the Great Britain & Ireland team to take on the Continent of Europe in the Vagliano Trophy in Italy on 30 June and 1 July.

Lamb, 19, is the British women's stroke play champion, won the 2016 England Golf Women’s Order of Merit and was England's top scorer in the mixed international against Spain, winning all her games. She was also joint runner up in the Irish women’s stroke play.
