EAST Lancashire maintained their unbeaten start to the season thanks to a seven wicket victory over Bacup.

Batting first, Bacup were restricted to 151-8 with Minhaj Bhada claiming 4-27 as captain Tim Farragher topped scored for the visitors with 35.

East Lancashire knocked off their target inside 29 overs for the loss of just three wickets thanks largely to an unbeaten 79 from Paul Turner.

Champions Ramsbottom slipped to another defeat after Todmorden won by eight wickets at Acre Bottom.

Openers Fraser Kay (30) and captain Tom Parton (67) got Ramsbottom off to a steady before they slipped to 135 all out.

Todmorden professional Kelly Smuts was 47 not out as Todmorden reached their total for the loss of two wickets.

League new boys Clitheroe enjoyed another win as openers Charlie Dewhurst (75) and Al Ross (38) put on a opening wicket stand of 101 at Colne before Dewhurst’s brother Jack entered the fray and scored an unbeaten 79 as the visitors posted 270-6.

In reply, Colne were bowled out for 159 with Kenton Rhodes top scoring with 32.

Great Harwood enjoyed a 20 run derby victory at Rishton.

Batting first, Great Harwood were bowled out for 147 with Ashen Silva top scoring with 56. Despite the efforts of Ali Hasham (46) Rishton fell 20 runs short of their target.

Church professional Zain Abbas scored an unbeaten 117 but it was all in vain as they slipped to a six wicket defeat against Haslingden.

Church posted 220-2 with Josh Scully (35), Levi Wolfenden (26) and Bilal Abbas (22 no) all contributing.

But Graham Knowles (53) and Chris Cook-Martin (86) led a successful run chase with captain Phil Hayes (52 no) getting them over the line.

Liam Bedford hit 15 fours and a six on his way to a fine innings of 110 as Burnley won at his old club Enfield.

The opener was the mainstay of the Burnley innings as they were dismissed for 244. Enfield fell 40 runs shorts with Declan Bailey top scoring with 43.

Lowerhouse won by seven wickets at Rawtenstall. Andrew Payne top scored for the hosts with 60 as they finished on 152-9. Lowerhouse, in reply, reached their target for the loss of three wickets thanks to Ben Heap (32) and Charlie Cottam (54).

And Accrington enjoyed a 31 run win at Nelson with Simon Hanson top scoring with 71.
