EAST Lancashire shooter Stewart Nangle rounded off his Paralympic Games with an eighth place finish in the Mixed P4-50m Pistol-SH1.

The Bacup star, who already had a sixth place finish from earlier in the week, was competing in his third event of the games at the Olympic Shooting Centre.

Nangle, 50, qualified for the final in seventh spot from a field of 34 but could not improve in the evening showpiece as he ended eighth with a score of 64.3.

Sareh Javanmardidodmani took gold for Iran with China's Chao Yeng second and Ukraine's Oleksii Denysiuk claiming bronze.

Nangle, who began shooting at Blackburn Rifle & Pistol Club, is competing in his first Paralympics after a consistent year on the international stage and is now set to head home with the shooting events in Rio completed.
