The Lancashire Academy has strong links with other sports teams in its community, training at the Blackburn Rugby Club facilities, and meeting regularly with university American football teams across the North West.

Their rookie camps, designed to give newcomers a taster of the sport, will be held at the Blackburn Central High School on Haslingden Road from 10.30am – 1.30pm on January 31st and February 7th.

The Academy urges those who might be interested - male or female - from 14 years and above, to attend, as well as those who have an interest in coaching and other off-field positions.

Director of Media, Nathan Sharrocks, said: “It’s been incredible to see how much the Academy has grown in the past few years and we want to encourage new faces to come along and see how exciting and beneficial playing American football can be.

Lancashire Telegraph:

“Our teams show so much drive and commitment to the sport, and to each other, and that’s something that really spurs new players on to flourish at the Academy. It’s going to be an excellent season and we’d love for new people to come along and get involved.”
