LAURA Massaro is aiming to continue her near flawless start to the campaign when she faces Nour El Sherbini in the final of the Qatar Classic this afternoon (3pm).

The East Lancashire ace has already won two tournaments so far this season and will pick up back-to-back world tour titles if she gets the better of Egypt’s world No.8 in Doha today.

Massaro booked her place in the final with a 3-0 victory over world No.6 Omneya Abdel Kawy in an assured display.

And the 32-year-old from Hoghton is relishing the chance to play in another showpiece against an opponent she defeated to win the 2013 World Championships.

“I’ve started the season really well and can’t believe how good I’ve been playing,” said Massaro. “I’ve made three finals and won two tournaments so I’m feeling confident at the moment – every final is a big day and my goal is obviously to win big titles so I’m looking forward to it.”

The world No.3 admitted she was slightly surprised with the straightforward nature of her semi-final win as she dispatchedAbdel Kawy 11-7, 11-4, 11-6 in just 25 minutes.

“I’m really happy to make another final and even happier that I managed to get off 3-0,” Massaro added.

“I was expecting a tough match after our semi-final in Philadelphia but I think she made a lot of unforced errors and wasn’t at her best but the most important thing is getting two feet into the final and I’ll do that whatever way I have to.”

The final pits the two form players together with Massaro having claimed the Macau Open and the US Open while El Sherbini winning the Carol Weymuller Open.

Should Massaro prevail against the Egyptian, who won a five-game thriller against Nicol David in the last four, it will extend her advantage in the Road To Dubai Standings.
