Tap Your Toes is a good bet to break his duck as he makes the journey north for the Racing UK Anywhere Available Now Maiden Stakes at Redcar.

Luca Cumani’s three-year-old failed to make the racetrack as as a juvenile and it was not difficult to see why as he appeared all at sea when he did make his debut at Leicester at the start of June, coming home last of the six runners.

His second effort at Doncaster was not a great improvement, but his third run at Salisbury, at the end of July, was far more encouraging as he went down by just a head to Munfallet, a horse with far more experience.

It was perhaps slightly disappointing that he was unable to go one place better at Doncaster last month, but he ran well enough to finish second once more and the winner, Crazy Chic, has since run perfectly well in handicap company off a mark of 80.

Cumani has saddled four winners from just 11 runners at Redcar in the last five years and Tap Your Toes is fancied to enhanced that impressive strike-rate under Shane Kelly.

Earlier in the afternoon Snow Cloud is rated the one to beat in the Market Cross Jewellers Maiden Auction Stakes.

Representing the Sprint Cup-winning connections of trainer David O’Meara and owners Middleham Park Racing, Snow Cloud was strong in the market on her Ripon debut in early May, suggesting she has shown the Nawton handler plenty at home.

When the gates opened she was far too green to herself justice, but she was still beaten less than five lengths into fourth and improvement is virtually assured.

On paper at least, this does not look a great race and Snow Cloud should prove a tough nut to crack if fit enough after a break.

Mustadaam is of obvious interest in the Markfield Handicap at Leicester.

Following a number of encouraging efforts in defeat, Brian Meehan’s son of Dansili deservedly got his head in front for the first time when edging out Conquerant by three-quarters of a length at this track in the middle of July.

Conquerant has won since, boosting the form, and the way Mustadaam toughed it out last time suggested he will be at least as effective at this longer trip.
