East Lancashire swimmers keep Olympic dream alive

RYAN Bennett and Joshua Walsh have completed the first hurdle as they look to secure their Olympic dream.

Bennett, from Brinscall, won his heat in the 200m backstroke in the national championships this morning to reach tonight's final.

There are still two Olympic qualifying spots up for grabs.

Blackburn's Josh Walsh also opened his championships in style as he qualified for a spot in tonight's 200m freestyle final.

There remains one qualifying spot up for grabs in that discipline.
