SAWLEY canoeist Jon Schofield and his partner Liam Heath retained their crown at the European Championships in Belgrade yesterday.
The former Clitheroe Grammar School pupil was left celebrating after taking the K2 200m final in style.
The British duo had struggled through the heats earlier in the day but turned on the style to take gold from Belarus and Sweden.
GB head coach Brendan Purcell said: “It was unbelievable racing from the pair, they dominated from the start.”
