DEREK Egan is confident his Rossendale United side can push up the UniBond Division One (North) table in 2008 after a decent return over the festive period.
The Stags took their unbeaten run to five matches after back-to-back draws against derby rivals Chorley and Clitheroe.
On both occasions, United came back from two goals down in the final few minutes to snatch an unlikely point.

But manager Egan has been delighted with the fighting spirit of his players and, ahead of tomorrow's clash at home against Newcastle Blue Star, has backed them to make progress this year.
"It's nice to go five games unbeaten, although only one of those was a win," he said.
"I'm pleased with our results over the Christmas programme.
"It's never easy against Chorley and Clitheroe, no matter where they are in the league.
"But we now want to push on up the table this year and I believe we can do that."
Egan has strengthened his attacking options by luring Chorley striker David Eatock.
