IN a poor game at the Riverside, Ramsbottom ground out a narrow victory in front of a decent crowd.
Both sides went into this game knowing a victory would almost certainly keep them out of the relegation dog-fight over the next month or so and with Atherton appointing a new manager just over a week ago, many where predicting an entertaining game.
But entertaining is not a word to sum up this game!

The first-half saw very little in terms of goal mouth action, while the second-half saw only a slightly improved performance.
It took until the 59th minute before either side made any real meaningful run at goal and, thankfully for the Rams fans, it was United who took the lead.
A neat run and cross by Vaughan found Matty Kay in acres of room and he had the simplest of chances in tucking the ball home past the stranded Clare in goal.
They almost doubled their lead when Thurston volleyed the ball over the bar.
A win is a win and Rams boss Neil Hart will be relieved to get another victory under his belt as he aims to put in a strong finish before the end of the season.
