Despite a good positive start from the visitors it soon all went downhill at the Riverside in this local derby, but the Rams can thank their visitors for gifting them the opportunity to score as neither side looked like they had a goal in them.
Ramsbottom's opening goal came mid-way through the half following some sustained pressure from Bacup.
The visitors were claiming for a foul and a free-kick and failed to play to the whistle, when Ramsbottom's Brendon O'Shaughnessy collected a loose ball and with the Bacup midfield players more interested in the referee than not closing the ball, he shaped the ball over keeper Horridge's head.
And shortly after the half time break, the usually effective Borg did put a final nail in any hope Bacup had of getting back into this game, when he dropped an attempted back pass that fell way short of Horridge in the Bacup goal, gifting O,Shaughnessy the easiest of chances to secure the points.
