RAMSBOTTOM manager Lee Sculpher has drafted in eight new summer signings as he targets promotion from Division One.

Joining the Riverside outfit are former Oldham Athletic work experience winger Rob Walker, ex-Harrogate midfielder Steve Johnson, former Trafford defender Chris Dalton, plus goalkeeper John Ogden, forward Andy Sensole, midfielder Isaac Adams and defenders Rob Gathercole and Paul Walker.

But Sculpher has suffered a blow with the exit of strikers Carl Lomax and Ryan Moore, who was United's top scorer last season with 17 goals, along with John Blackley and Steve Mainwaring.

The Rams get their campaign under way at home to Maine Road and Sculpher said: "Carl and Ryan leaving adds pressure on the other strikers, like Lee Prior and Anthony Jackson. I could have done with another striker.

"But we've got to believe promotion is achievable."
