Colne travelled to Moor Lane to face table-toppers Salford and were unfortunate to return home with only a point.
They produced a performance equal to any team in the league and they should be contenders if they continue in this form.
In the first minute, Kevin Urwin delivered an excellent cross from the left and Colne would have taken an early lead if Jamie Longley had made better contact.

After 10 minutes, Michael Cruz set up Liam Garbutt whose shot was well saved by Andy Robertson at the near post and, from the resulting Ted Cockett corner, Andy Howarth was only inches away from converting at the far post.
Colne continued to match the league leaders in every department but, in the second-half, Salford could have taken an early lead when Carl Lomax burst down the right but he was thwarted by a well-timed challenge by Ronnie Wright.
At the other end, Cockett burst into the City area only to be denied by a last ditch tackle. From the resulting corner, Scott Gizon's header from an Urwin cross was scrambled off the line by Simon Myerscough.
In the final minutes, Colne looked certain to seal the victory when Gavin Cooper beat the off-side trap but just as he was about to shoot he was cynically brought down on the edge of the penalty area.
From the resulting free kick, Michael Rosser was denied by a brilliant save at the near post by Robertson.
