CLITHEROE manager Neil Reynolds believes his in-form side can leapfrog rivals Rossendale and become East Lancashire's top non-league club this season.
The Blues are in a rich vein of form, a 3-2 midweek victory at Chorley, giving them their sixth win in eight matches.
And, as a result, they are now just one place and three points behind the Stags ahead of tomorrow's clash against Newcastle Blue Star at Shawbridge.
"It's still possible for us to finish as the top club in East Lancashire," said Reynolds.
"It would be better than Christmas Day if we could finish above Rossendale United.
"It's nothing personal against their manager Derek Egan, as I get on well with him, but as a marker to our season it would show how far we've come in the last couple of months."

However, Egan joked: "Ever since Accrington Stanley went up, Neil's been saying they are the top non-league club in East Lancashire."
