Clitheroe 0 Bradford Park Avenue 1
    SENT OFF: Jonathan Smith
    SENT OFF: Jonathan Smith

CLITHEROE'S recent fine run of results came to an end at the hands of promotion-chasing Bradford Park Avenue.

But the big spending West Yorkshire outfit can consider themselves extremely fortunate to have left Shawbridge with all three points after another stirring display from Neil Reynolds' side.

The Blues were out the traps the quickest on a cold afternoon in Clitheroe and Carl Lomax, Anthony Johnson and Craig Sargeson all had one-on-one chances with the visiting keeper to open the scoring.

But all three scuffed their shots and the home side was made to pay with just minutes to go before the interval when Tristan Whitman gave Bradford the lead.

Again, the Blues were on top at the start of the second-half.

But their cause wasn't helped by the controversial sending off of experienced defender Jonathan Smith, who was shown a straight red card after the referee deemed him to be the last man.

However, they still carried a threat and could have levelled in the closing stages, but Dave Hankin failed to score.
