GOAL HERO: Clitheroe's Craig Sargeson fire in the winner
Sterling work during the week made the pitch playable but the heavy surface made for a dour encounter against an ordinary Bridlington side that played much of the game with 10 men.
Jonathon Smith returned at centre back with John Osborne reverting to left back and Scott Redhead to left midfield.
Clitheroe put some good early flowing moves together and Carl Lomax flashed a free-kick from the edge of the box narrowly over.
A tussle with Anthony Johnson saw their player receive a harsh red card before half-time.
The second-half saw much of the midfield area by-passed and the visitors rarely attacked with any numbers which made it difficult for the Blues to break down the 10 men.
There were a couple of scrappy close chances in front of the Bridlington goal before another blocked goal attempt from Redhead saw the ball fired home by Craig Sargeson near the far post in the 75th minute.

Dave Hankin had a strong 70-yard surge before striking the ball across the keeper from just inside the penalty area and unluckily saw it hit the far post and bounce to safety.
