Chorley started the match brightly but faded badly once they went behind to a 38th minute goal from Mark Edmeads.
Victory for the visitors was marred, though, by a bad injury to leading scorer Ryan Salmon who was stretchered off after he was barged of the ball by Chorley's Kieran Fletcher.
Most of the early chances had fallen to the Magpies and they had an appeal for a penalty turned down when Danny Nolan appeared to be wrestled to the ground.
A superb defence splitting pass by Nolan then put Steve Burke through on goal with just the keeper the beat, but he overran the ball and it went out for a goalkick.
With the game now being played in a blizzard, Chorley continued to press, and another claim for a home penalty was refused.
Bamber Bridge were now creating chances of their own and Magpies keeper Peter Collinge saved well on the half-hour but could do nothing to prevent the visitors from going ahead before the break.
Chorley had an immediate chance to level when Burke sprinted clear of his marker on the left, before cutting the ball back into the box where Mike Eckersley's effort was cleared off the line.
The rebound fell to Nolan, who seemed ceratin to score but Brig keeper McCormick flung himself forward to block his shot.
Neither side could created much in the second half with Chorley reduced to long range efforts in their search for an equaliser and two efforts from Gavin Lee Ellison were high and wide.
The workrate of the Chorley side could not be faulted but in the end they lacked the guile to threaten a well organised Brig outfit and they succumbed to their fourth straight league defeat.
