SIDECAR ace Dave Holden extended his lead in the Wirral 100 Championship after claiming maximum points at Oulton Park.
Holden, from Great Harwood, and passenger Rob Coward, seized the advantage when race leader John Holden retired on the last lap.
Holden, who races a Windle Suzuki 1000, finished third in the opening four-lap race.
But with the results not counting towards the championship, he elected to use the track time to scrub in' new slick tyres.
On a dry track for the crucial second race and starting from third place, Holden and Coward were able to keep in touch with runaway leader John Holden.
And when the former Clitheroe rider pulled off the track within sight of the chequered flag, it was left to the reigning Aintree champion to take a popular victory.
Next round is at the Anglesey circuit on Bank Holiday Monday, May 26.
l Dave Holden is sponsored by THG Motorbodies, Longridge; Silkolene Oils; CMS Car and Commercial Repairs and Blackburn Van Hire.
