TWO East Lancashire drivers are among the starters for this weekend's Tour of Cheshire, the opening round of the 2008 HRCR Clubmans Championship.
Burnley solicitor John Hartley and navigator Steve Coombes are seeded at 25 in their Porsche 911, while Steve Entwistle, from Rishton, and Jason Crook are ten places behind in their Mini Cooper.
The 70-car entry reads like a who's who of British historic rallying, with top names such as Paul Hernaman, Jon Wood and Paul Wignall all competing.
Organised by Knutsford and District Motor Club, this year's Tour of Cheshire starts and finishes at Cranage Hall, near Holmes Chapel, and takes in 12 special tests and 75 miles of regularities.
The event is also a major fundraiser for the North West Air Ambulance, and the organisers are hoping to beat the £1768 raised from last year's tour.
Spectators are not allowed at the test venues, but specator information will be posted on the website www.tourofcheshire.co.uk 24 hours before Saturday's start.
