Townsend impresses at Accrington Motor Sport Club autotest

TEENAGER Ryan Townsend joined nine other young drivers at Accrington Motor Sport Club’s Production Car Autotest on Sunday after winning a free drive in a competition.

The 14-year-old had his fee paid for by Accrington Motor Sport Club and the Under 17 Motor Club North West and did not hit a single obstacle.

“With each run I was getting to know the car better and enjoying it more and more,” he said.

Matthew Faulkner was the winner with Accrington Motor Sport Club duo Simon Robinson and Steve Terry second and third.

David Robinson, father of Simon, won the National B Autosolo and Accrington’s Steve Johnson was first in the National B Autotest.
