Motorsport in brief RALLY: THE Lancashire Automobile Club’s St George’s Day Rally will take place on Sunday – but the finish will no longer be at Mitton Hall.

The event starts from the Whalley venue, with the first car leaving at 11am, but the new location for the finish will be confirmed in the final instructions online at www.lancsautoclub.com.

The rally takes place every year and runs through the Ribble Valley and Lancashire countryside.

Entries will be accepted on the day but those interested are advised to allow plenty of time as the event can be quite busy. The price is £10.

RALLY: Wilpshire rally driver Matt Griffin is among the entrants for the Butlins Somerset Stages Rally on Saturday.

The event is part of the BTRDA and English Rally Championships, with Griffin currently third in the N3 class of the BTRDA series after winning his section at the Wyedean Forest Rally but then being forced to miss the Malcolm Wilson Rally.

He will team up with co-driver Chris Spilsted, from Wrexham, in a Ford Fiesta ST in Somerset.

John Steer, from Clitheroe, will also take part in the event as a co-driver.

RALLY: Simon Boardman finished in 26th position at the VK Derbyshire Rally at the weekend.

Boardman, with navigator Chris Williams, took 14th in class – one place ahead of fellow Clitheroe and District Motor Club member Paul Buckel, who was 29th overall with Steven Butler.

The event was organised by Matlock Motor Club.

AUTOSOLO: The latest CSMA and Accrington Motor Sport Club autosolo will take place in Lymm on April 29.

Entry spots are still available and anyone wishing to take part can contact Steve Butler on 01254 389059.
