GREAT Harwood’s Dave Holden claimed victory in the sidecar category at the Hoghton Tower Sprint on Sunday.
Holden recently got 2012 off to a winning start with three race triumphs at the Wirral 100 Motor Club Championship’s meeting at Anglesey alongside passenger Heath Fairbrother.
And the 64-year-old took first place once more at Hoghton Tower at the weekend. The sprint event saw bikes and sidecars race against the clock in three timed runs along the tower’s driveway.
“It’s one eighth of a mile but it’s quite a steep slope,” Holden said.
“The competition was quite close but my fastest time was 8.8 seconds.”
Holden is now due to return to action in the Wirral 100 Motor Club Championship at Oulton Park on April 28.
