HASLINGDEN rider Tom Carne has been tipped to become the best rider in the country one day after switching teams ahead of the 2012 British 125GP Championship.
The 18-year-old made his debut in the championship with RCD Motorsport/FPW Racing during 2011, gaining valuable experience after winning the Thundersport GB series last year.
Carne has now joined Barnsley-based Team Repli-Cast and boss Gary Dawson has seen enough of the prospect to be confident that he can make real progress in the sport in the years to come.
The British 125GP Championship is one of the feeder series to the British Superbike Championship.
Dawson said: “We are very excited by the signing of Tom Carne as I’ve watched this lad from the sidelines for the last couple of years and he is a rider who will achieve the very top in this sport due to his input off the bike as well as on it.
“He is just a natural racer who in my eyes shows just what’s needed in his quest to become British champion.”
Carne will be joined in Team Repli-Cast in 2012 by Staffordshire rider Nathan Westwood.
