Stockport 061 Motor Club have confirmed that the Legend Fires SMC Stages will go ahead on Sunday March 28th despite the low number of entries making it almost certain that the club will face losses on running the event.
Club Secretary Mark Wilkinson said "We are committed to furthering motorsport in the North West so the rally will run regardless but it would make the losses a little more bearable if we could attract a few more late entries."
Anyone considering contesting this counter to the ANWCC, ANCC & SD34 Championships can contact Mark on 07879 657580 or by email to secretary@smcstages.co.uk to obtain more information. The rally is based at the Weeton Army Camp Near Blackpool with scrutineering at Myerscough College.
East Lancashire crews already entered include Ross Miller and Ben Anderson in the Peugeot 206 and Graham Howard and Jason McTear in the Toyota Corolla.
