WRC contender Conrad Rautenbach was full of praise for his co-driver Daniel Barritt after another points scoring finish on the Rally Poland.
Although the pair sacrificed their seventh place on the Rally Poland in a bid to help team-mate Sebastien Loeb, Rautenbach described Barritt’s performance as “perfect”.
“Getting through all of the really quick stages in Poland is a big boost for me. It’s the first really fast event which Daniel and I have worked on together and it’s really clicked,” said the Zimbabwean.
“For Daniel, getting the notes out at exactly the right time is important on every rally, but on these quick roads, it’s vital – and he did the perfect job in Poland.”
“I’m really looking forward to the next round in Finland now. We’ve got a test before the event which will help.”
Barritt, from Barrowford and Rautenbach had to settle for eighth spot after they were asked to pull over on the final loop of the rally by Citroen's team managers.
That allowed championship leader Loeb to pass them and collect more points.
And Rautenbach admitted he’d been happy to help the 51-time world rally winner Loeb, saying: “This is a team sport. The Citroen Junior Team manager asked us if we would mind and I agreed.”
