Back Cowm Quarry, off Tong Lane is the venue for round two of the European Extreme Enduro Championship.

And organisers FastEddyRacing have been rewarded with a bumper entry for Sunday’s meeting.

The entry also includes several well-known trials riders, including Jonathan Richardson (KTM), Sam Ludgate (Beta).

Racing starts from 9.30am on Sunday morning, and there will be an admission charge for spectators. The nearest postcode is OL12 8XG.

Pair secure superb win

ALAN Oldfield and Fred Roberts scored a maiden victory on last weekend’s Jack Neal Memorial Rally, organised by Clitheroe DMC.

Tristan Pye and Stewart Merry finished runners-up in their Subaru Impreza, followed by Johnnie Ellis and Dave Green, in another Impreza.

But arguably the drive of the day came from road expert Simon Mauger who finished seventh overall – in a Nissan Micra.

There were class wins for Mauger, Graeme Bell (Ford RS2500) , Simon Pennington (Evo), and Stuart Ranby (Escort).

The event is held every year at Blyton airfield, Lincolnshire, in memory of the well-respected East Lancashire scrutineer Jack Neal.

Clerk of the course Chris Woodcock said: “I try to put on events I would want to do myself, and judging by the smiling faces at the end we must be getting close to what most people want.”

Venue switch for meeting

DARWEN Trials Club have been forced to switch venues for Saturday’s APICO Novice Beginners Series event.

Torrential rain in recent weeks has left Ramsgreave Hall Farm waterlogged, so the club will now use Warmden Quarry, off the Accrington by-pass.

There’s a variety of classes, including beginner, 50/50, novice harder route, starting at 2pm The club are also looking for observers, who will be paid £15 plus a hot drink.
