BRILLIANT Blackburn Hawks bounced back from successive losses as they stormed past Telford Titans 8-0 on Sunday night at The Arena.
The Titans were depleted and appeared more interested in spoiling tactics which resulted in several powerplays for the locals.
Hawks lost Rick Hughes to injury before a Chris Arnone slapshot deflected to Sami Narkia to open the scoring and Arnone added the game’s second and Sam Dunford made it three shortly before the end of the first period.
Matt Viney was denied midway through the second period but the Hawks were 4-0 up when Narkia grabbed his second in some style.
MVP Rick Ravey scored the fifth and the sixth as the game became even more one-sided and it was only a matter of time before the Hawks ran in more goals.
Bobby Streetly scored his first Hawks goal to make it seven and that strike was celebrated in style both on and off the ice before Narkia claimed a first hat-trick in English hockey to round off a glorious evening.
Lancashire Raptors slumped to their 13th defeat in 13 games of the English National Ice Hockey League North Two when they were crushed by Sheffield Senators on Saturday.
The Blackburn-based Raptors were beaten 7-0 in the game at The Arena to take their tally of goals conceded to 124 so far.
To add to their woes they have only found the net five times in their 13 games.
