BLACKBURN Hawks are hoping to make it back-to-back wins in the English National Ice Hockey League when they host struggling Sheffield Spartans tomorrow night.
After a free weekend, Hawks will be looking to pick up where they left off against Solihull Barons, who they beat 7-1 in their last league game.
And manager Graham Lomax is confident his charges can overcome a Sheffield side who are without a win so far.
“They haven’t got off to the best of starts, having lost their first three games,” he said.
“They used to be a real powerhouse in the sport, but they are not churning out the same talent they once were for whatever reason.
“I think they’ve lost a few players from last season and we’ve signed one of their better ones in Scott Glover.
“I’m sure he’ll be looking to put one over his former club.”
Hawks welcome back Scott Glover and Aaron Davies to a full-strength squad for the visit of Sheffield tomorrow, which faces off at 5.45pm. And Lomax is hoping for another sizeable backing at the Blackburn Arena.
“Crowds are increasing week by week and we are averaging about 600 and 700 fans at home games now, which is great,” he added.
“The league record stands at 1,000, so we would love to break that at some stage this season.”
