WE’VE finished the season unbeaten and now we’ll be remembered as the ‘Invincibles’ – that is a proud accolade for all of us.

As soon as we won the title, we made it our aim not to lose a game so to achieve that is really special.

It wasn’t easy, we had a few scares along the way, but we’ve managed to do it.

I think there’s only Whitley Bay who have also gone unbeaten throughout a league season before so that shows hard it is to do.

It’s taken a lot of commitment. We’ve been up and down the country, and most games we’ve taken a full squad.

And I think that’s played a key part in our success.

But there was no better way to round off the league season by playing in front of our own fans.

We wanted to put on a show as there was a big crowd.

We want them to come back next year as well and hopefully the way we’ve played will ensure they do.

It was a good win and it was nice to get a lot of goals for the fans and there were more great celebrations at the end.

I am proud to captain this club. I’m a local lad, so it’s a big thing for me.

I grew up watching hockey at Blackburn and spent most of my junior career here.

There’s a couple of other lads who have also come through the ranks so it probably means a bit more for us.

But that’s not taking anything anyway from the other lads, who have been brilliant.

Now we can look forward to time off before the play-offs and I think the break will do us good to be honest.

Obviously we’ll still be training but it will give us a bit of time to regroup.

We’ll be playing Sutton Sting or Sheffield Spartans, who we drew with 4-4 on Saturday, in the play-offs.

Whoever we will play it will be tough, but we’re confident.

The play-offs are all we’ve got to play for now, so we’ll be focused on making this memorable season even better.
