WINNING is a really good habit to have and it was great that we put another two victories on the board at the weekend.

Both Saturday’s 8-1 league win at home to Sutton and Sunday’s 8-3 cup win at Billingham were very physical games.

In both the opposition tried to rough us, especially on Saturday.

That’s all Sutton’s game plan seemed to consist of but once we got past the first period we’d dealt with what they had thrown at us and our quality shone through.

We’ve got Ad and Luke Brittle on our top line and it seemed like Sutton were targeting them a little bit in a bid to disrupt us. But Ad can hold his own as people who have watched him have probably found out!

We don’t let things like that bother us, we just keep chipping away and stick to our plan.

We did that in both matches and in the end won both convincingly to stay top of the league and in a good position in the cup.

The three teams above us in the cup standings all play in the EPL. The games against those sides are a lot tougher and we never expect to get results in them.

Lancashire Telegraph:

But when we’re playing Billingham and Solway we want to win those games because it is good for our momentum.

And we have got good momentum going into Saturday’s league match at Solway.

It’s going to be a tough game but we have already beaten them once on their own ice this season so we can take confidence from that.

Then it’s back to Blackburn on Sunday for our cup match against Telford.

The Tigers are a class outfit with some top players on some big money.

It will be a decent game and while they beat us 7-1 at their placer earlier in the season we’re hopeful of making it a closer game.

But whatever the outcome I’ll enjoy it, as I always do playing against EPL sides.
