THE weekend results were a bit hard to take because I don’t think we played that badly.

We actually played quite well at Sutton Sting on Saturday and it was gutting to score six on the road and still lose 7-6.

We’ve been struggling to put the puck away in some recent games but at Sutton we had no problems, and Adam Brittle and David Meikle both got hat-tricks.

We were 2-0 up but we gifted them some goals during the game and ended up losing.

Sutton are probably one of the best offensive teams in the league but we’ve been solid defensively this year so that was disappointing.

Then on Sunday at home to Manchester Minotaurs we didn’t play badly again, but we drew 2-2.

Their keeper played really well, he had a great game. We had problems putting the puck away again, although that was partly down to him.

But this team has a never say die attitude and we got an equaliser late on through Aaron Davies. The lads can be happy about how we played.

We lost two players last week, Myles Dacres and Bobby Streetly, so we only had two lines, which wasn’t ideal.

I know the club have put a statement out and there was a bit of confusion over the transfer but they’ve gone now and we have to move on.

They were good players and I don’t want to put anyone down, but we can bring in good players to replace them. We just have to move on.

Jared Owen will be back this week and Ivo Dimitrijevs is hoping to be back soon from a stomach problem.

He had stomach bruising, he went back to Latvia and ended up in hospital there but I think the problem was a hockey injury from the last game he played before that.

He’s a good player who can put the puck away, so it will be good to have him back.

Chris Butler is back with us too. He has had some problems with his knee but thankfully that seems to be sorted and he’s an old fashioned D-man.

We are away to Solway Sharks on Saturday and that will be a tricky game, they beat Sheffield 8-0 at the weekend.

But if we play well I’ve no doubt we can go up there and beat them.

We beat them in the play-off semi finals last year and we’ve got a good record up there in Scotland.
