Net gain for the super Saints

AN all-conquering netball team have completed an astonishing record of going through their entire secondary school years without losing.

The Our Lady and St John's Secondary School team completed a remarkable clean sweep after winning the Blackburn and Darwen Netball Tournament for the fifth successive year.

The magnificent seven players that made up the team included Lois Duxbury, Becca Crighton, Sarah Dakin, Hayley Madden, Laura Crankshaw, Steph Wignall and Carman Peter-Thomas.

The girls went in to the tournament determined to completed their unbeaten record and finish on a high.

Players Steph Wignall and Lois Duxbury were proud of their record and thanked their teachers who guided them to success.

"We would like to say a massive thanks to Mrs Preedy and Miss Rigby for helping us reach our potential and show the other school netball teams what we are made of.

"On the whole, we are proud of our undefeated title and have enjoyed working together to fulfil our long term achievement."
