BURNLEY Tornados American Football Club have their sights firmly set on the end of season Brit Bowl National Finals after they continued their 100 per cent record following the second tournament of the season held at Chester.
The Tornados go to Durham in two weeks time knowing that another weekend undefeated would more or less guarantee a place at the Brit Bowl.
In Chester, the Tornados were up against Leicester Falcons, Coventry Jets and the Chester Romans.
The Falcons were first up for the Tornados who were sporting their new claret and blue away kit.
And it did the trick as they ran out 52-12 winners with quarter back Jake Peppiate having a fine second half, completing all five passes – culminating in touchdowns and conversion passes for Lewis Clark, Xavier Sutcliffe and Phil Robins.
Next up were the well-drilled Coventry Jets and the ever- confident Andy Hawkes scored 24 points in a 32-18 victory.
The final game against host club Chester Romans was the closest but a late touchdown from ‘safe hands’ Lewis Clarke sealed a 30-20 victory and protected the Tornados perfect record this season.
