OAKHILL proved to be the perfect hosts for the Ribble Valley Schools dodgeball competition as they ended up as winners.

A total of 13 schools from across the borough travelled to Whalley to take part in the popular ‘throw and go’ game.

Players had to duck, dive and dodge balls thrown at them by opponents and teams had 10 minutes to try and eliminate as many players in that time.

The team with the most players left on court were the winners.

Schools were split into four groups with the winners progressing to the semi-finals.

Group A was won by Gisburn who won all three of their games ahead of Edisford with two wins, Brookside finished third with Grindleton fourth. Oakhill A topped Group B with Sabden second and Brennands third.

In Group C, Whalley won both games to top the table with Oakhill B second ahead of Pendle A.

And Group D was won by Pendle B who won both games ahead of Oakhill C and Clitheroe St James.

In the semi finals, Oakhill A got the better of Gisburn to book their place in the final where they played Pendle B after they defeated Gisburn.

Gisburn beat Whalley in the third and fourth place play-off before Oakhill A took the overall title with victory over Pendle B.

Thank you to Oakhill for hosting the competition, Thank you to all school staff, children and parents for supporting on the day.
