THE Accrington and District Junior Boys League is up and running with teams competing from under eights to under 16s.

While the under eights to under 11s is classed as ‘non competitive’ football, it is the real deal for the older age groups. And in the Under 13s Black division, Streets and Rishton United have 100 per cent records after the opening two games of the campaign.

Streets sit top on goal difference following their impressive 8-0 win at Clitheroe Wolves Blue while Rishton were narrow 1-0 winners against St Joseph’s White at Wilson’s Playing Fields.

Crown Paints kicked off their season with a 2-1 win over Globe Bullough Park Bulls.

There were plenty of goals in the Under 13s White division with no fewer than 34 scored in just three games.

Oswaldtwistle St Mary’s came out on top in a nine goal thriller against Huncoat United Black, eventually winning 5-4 while St Joseph’s certainly had their shooting boots on as they won 14-1 against Padiham Saints.

Early leaders Wilpshire Wanderers made it two wins out of two after beating Globe Bullough Park Lions 10-0.

Huncoat United picked up their first win of the season after beating Langho Juniors 6-1 and Barrowford Celtic also scored half a dozen goals, winning 6-2 at Wilpshire Wanderers.

Rishton United ran out 3-1 winners against Padiham Saints.

Feniscowles and Pleasington kept up their perfect start to the season in Under 14s White after beating Globe 9-2 while Great Harwood Rovers scored a magnificent seven against Accrington Community FC.

Feniscowles’ Under 15s team were also in goal scoring form as they beat Blackburn United 10-3.

Leaders Globe beat Whalley Juniors 4-3 while Wilpshire Wanderers won 3-0 at Clitheroe Wolves.

And Rishton United beat local rivals Huncoat United Black 5-1.
