THERE was a full programme of fixtures in the Blackburn Sunday League with teams returning to action following their LFA Sunday Trophy exploits the previous week.

Intack are the early pace setters in Division One and made it two wins out of two with a convincing 6-1 victory over newly-promoted Stanhill WMC.

Canberra Corinthians confirmed their early promise after an easy win against Park FC and Brown Cow Olympic came away 4-2 winners against Craven Heifer.

Mill Hill made heavy weather against Rosehill but a brilliant individual goal from Roberto Bonaminio, a penalty won by Mohamed Nabeel and an unfortunate own goal from Rosehill took the wind out of their sails after the break.

Despite scoring a couple of consolation goals, Mill Hill never looked like losing the game, eventually coming away 5-2 winners.

Stanley Ultras made up for their LFA Media Trophy disappointment by beating The Hare and Hounds 4-2. That game could have gone either way for a time but good goal keeping from Jamie Aulty made sure they pulled clear after Hare and Hounds had pulled it back to 2-2.

And Crown Paints ran out convincing 7-0 winners over Whinney Hill ended 7-0 to Crown Paints. A surprising result considering how both got on in the previous week but Whinney Hill found things difficult after having two players sent off.

In Division Two, Ewood Blues continued their steady start by beating The Anchor 2-0. Despite the tight score line, Ewood Blues never looked like losing with their well marshalled defence.

However they will find Rhoden Inn breathing down their neck as they proved to be too good for Helmshore Harriers, winning 5-1 and looked very good for it.

The Crown narrowly beat new boys Clayton Park Rangers who twice came from behind before eventually losing 3-2. Golden Cup beat Rising Sun by the same scoreline,

Oswaldtwistle St Mary’s lost 5-3 in an eight-goal thriller against Holden Arms but the game of the day in Division Two was the clash between Adelphi Beer Engine and Bridgewater.

Bridgewater led 5-1 at the break but Adelphi roared back to within a goal. Both teams missed chances in the closing stages but it was Bridgewater who held out to win 5-4.
