BURNLEY Gymnastics Club were once again in the medals after attending the Milano Invitational four-piece competition organised by City of Preston Gymnastics Club.

The popular competition attracted gymnasts from Bolton and Liverpool Gymnastics Clubs but the Burnley girls proved a match for anyone.

On the opening day, Libby Hartley competed in the Level 8 My First four-piece competition and produced a superb all-round performance.

The eight-year-old was second on the vault, first on beam, first on bars, first on floor to take the overall title and also an artistry award for her floor routine.

It was excellent performance from Libby, who certainly caught the eye of the judges.

Lillia Bradford, six, was competing in the Level 8 My First four-piece competition and took home a bronze medal by finishing third on floor.

The youngest member of the Burnley team showed great courage overcoming pre-competition nerves to perform brilliantly in front of more than 250 spectators.

On day two, Shannon Cairns, 11, was competing at Regional Level 5 and delivered her best competition results to date – first on vault, first on beam, second on floor, third on bars to finish second overall. She also picked up artistry award for her floor routine.

Madison Hull, also 11, was competing at Regional Level 5 and she took home three medals after finishing second on the vault, third on the beam and third on floor after stepping up a level of competition.

Jessica Park, 10, was competing at Regional Level 6 and managed to take home a silver medal with a faultless beam routine. Millie Porter, also aged 10, unfortunately didn’t place on anything but still competed very well, narrowly missing out on a medal.

Lola Dugdale was competing in a very competitive category at Level 8 but delivered a great all round performance to finish third overall after taking-third on the beam, third on the vault and second on the floor.

Olivia Anderson and Grace Root were competing at Level 7.

Olivia finished third on beam to take home a bronze with Grace enjoying three visits to the podium after finishing first on the bars, third on the vault and was second overall to again add more medals to the club’s cabinet.

Olivia Noonan competed in her first ever inter club competition after coming through the ranks and was excellent competing at Level 8 – finishing first on the beam, third on the bars, second on the vault, third on the floor and second overall.

Cora Fifield, again in her first competition, was placed second on bars and first on the vault completing a really successful two days for the club against some well-established clubs.
