HOLY Souls Primary School organised a cluster football event for schools in the area.

The event featured teams from Cedars, Roe Lee, Salesbury, Lammack, St Gabriel’s and Holy Souls and was held Pleckgate High School who provided the facilities while Year 11 pupils were match officials.

Adam Morris, Holy Souls RC Primary Year 6 Teacher/ PE Coordinator, said: “The evening proved to be a major success as pupils, parents and staff from other schools all came together to create a wonderful evening to show the talent in our local area.

“It also showed the partnership that Pleckgate High School and its head of PE, Andy Haworth, are willing to create with the local schools in their catchment area.

“As a school, Holy Souls real want to drive sport on within our local area, as we know that it can create friendships but also experiences that the children will keep forever.

“We are going to organise another evening of football where a presentation will made to the champions of our cluster but are also considering organising a similar event on netball.”
