Disbury Toc H 15

Burnley 1st 41

Finally a pleasant day for running rugby, and Burnley were off to a surburb of Manchester coming away with a bonus point win, to keep the outside chance of second place finish alive.

Disbury scored first via a three point penalty, then Burnley got on top and a training ground move so Lee Ferrier under the sticks for the first try, converted by Joe Parkinson. Burnley defence was solid all afternoon and a turnover from Charlie Gregory so Gerhard Botha score is first try of four, conversion by Parkinson. The third Burnley try was by Botha, then just before half time Toc H got a try off their own - half time 10 - 19.

Into the second half the pack was beginning to dominate in the mauls, small area to work on is fine tuning the line out, but only minor issue as most of the season it as function. Out wide where Toc H usual dominate against Burnley was also nullified as wings Matt Crowley and Ferrier defended very well. Botha got is third and secured the bonus point. Then player coach Simon Finnan crossed for a score after turn over ball from a solid scrum. A couple of great carries by Adam Wallis and Parkinson so Botha secure the ball and outpace convering defence and under the sticks he went, conversion by Parkinson. The final Burnley try came from a great little kick by Austin Ralph and Lee Ferrier sprinted through to touch down. Toc H scored a consolation try by their winger however a video referee may have deemed otherwise but the home touch judge was not up with play and the referee, who had a extremely good game, awarded the try.

Overall a great win away from home at a place Burnley have very rarely won at sees the young side developing nicely.
