FORMER GB hockey player Charlotte Hartley talked to 20 Year Seven Able and Talented Shuttleworth students about her life as part of the Sky Living for Sport programme.
Charlotte, from Burnley, is a Sky Sport Ambassador and she spent time with the students chatting about her hockey career and also about the obstacles she encountered, such as bullying, and how she overcame them.
She also put on a number of sessions which included team building exercises and helping students develop their hockey skills.
The Year Seven students involved will aim to use the skills they have developed as coaches and young leaders to plan and assist with sessions later in the year with local primary schools.
Mr Stubbs , who organised the project, said: "This was an exciting opportunity for our younger students, who have an interest in sport, to work with an inspirational international and learn from her experiences.
"Hopefully this project will engage our students and give them the confidence to progress in their own sports."
