THE Blackburn Sunday Football league took the unprecedented step of scheduling a Programme for Sunday 3rd January 2016; this paid dividends when the league managed to play its first scheduled program in two months.

The league opted to play all outstanding cup games from Sunday 15th November, in the only outstanding first round game Sunnybank had a convincing 5-1 win over Rishton Rangers, in the 2nd round on paper there looked a couple of potential upsets but all went to form in the end.

Whinney Hill Colts had a convincing 5-1 victory in the all second division affair over Park Hotel, while Oswaldtwistle Immanuel from the second took on first division side Station Hotel in a hard fought game Station just edged out their opponents from a lower division 3-0.

Intack took on division three side Rosehill who are unbeaten in the league or cup so far, Rosehill gave a very good account of themselves before the extra class and experience in the Intack ranks saw them home with a convincing 5-1 win.

In the all second division encounter and a Darwen derby match promotion challengers Craven Heifer edged past The Anchor in a 2-1 score line, referee Matt Philipson was highly praised by both teams for his excellent handling of a difficult game.

Mill Hill ran out convincing 9-1 winners over second division Brownhill arms in the game played at Griffin.

The only outstanding game from round two Stanley Ultras and Sunnybank will take place later this month, while the quarter final draw will take place at the next management meeting.
