FOOTBALLER Millie Schofield has achieved her first goal of a county call-up.
Blessed Trinity Roman Catholic College student Millie, 13, went for trials for Lancashire Under 14s Schools and was delighted to be selected.
“I couldn’t believe it when I received the email,” said Millie, who plays for Burnley Girls. “We had three trials at Accrington and Rossendale College and, to be honest, I didn’t think I had done very well on the last one.
“So when I got the email I couldn’t believe it. It was ‘wow’. I am just waiting for further details now.
“My dream is to go to America on a football scholarship and play in the National Soccer League over there. I also would love to play for England.”
FOOTBALL Burnley eye semi finals BURNLEY Girls and Ladies Under 14s will play St Annes Girls for a place in the semi finals of the Sprint Print LFA Under 14s Youth Cup.
And in the Under 16s Cup, Burnley travel to Bury for a place in the last four.
