THE best young players from across the county came together to take part in the English Schools FA’s Danone Nations Under 11s seven-a-side Inter Association Trophy.

The competition, which included eight borough teams from across Lancashire was held at the JMO Sports Park in Skelmersdale.

Burnley, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley, Pendle, Chorley and Blackburn all took part in the event alongside side district teams representing Lancaster, West Lancashire and Preston.

Teams were split in to two groups with the winners progressing through to the knockout stages.

And it was Preston who were crowned worthy winners as they did not concede a single goal throughout the tournament.

Preston now go forward to represent Lancashire in the North of England competition against the winners from other counties.
