LAURA Massaro swapped the World Tour for the North West Counties Squash League as she helped reigning Division One champions David Lloyd Chorley Firsts to a welcome victory over Neston Firsts.
Massaro, who has won the US Open and Qatar Classic in recent weeks, beat Sean Hunter 13-11, 12-14, 11-6, 11-7 as DL Chorley won 20-3.
Massaro’s husband and coach, Danny, was also in winning form, the captain beating Tom Bailey 11-3, 8-11, 11-7, 12-10.
And there were also victories for Isaac Rawcliffe, Charlie Cowie and Stuart MacGregor.
DL Chorley, who won their first ever Division One title last season without losing a game, are currently fifth in the table having won four and lost three of their opening seven fixtures.
In Division Two Central, struggling David Lloyd Chorley Seconds lost 20-4 against unbeaten league leaders Bury.
And in Division Three Central North, fourth-placed East Lancs Firsts went down 15-10 at Fleetwood Firsts. Chris Endersby and Tim Metcalfe both enjoyed impressive wins but their were defeats for Al Asan Ulhaq, Neil Gibson and Shaun McKenna.
Burnley side Crow Wood Firsts won for the first time this season thanks to a 15-10 win against Blackpool CC Seconds - James Owen, Nick Uttley and Jimmy Nelson all winning.
Crow Wood remain in the bottom three along with Blackburn Northern Seconds who lost 18-4 at St Annes First and DL Chorley Thirds who did not play.
In Division Three North East, Haslingden Firsts beat Cheetham Hill Seconds 19-8 while Clitheroe Firsts beat Bury Seconds 17-8.
Haslingden Seconds are up to eighth place in Division Four East after winning 17-8 at Cheetham Hill Thirds.
Crow Wood Seconds are riding high in Division Four North East, after beating Clayton Green Seconds 17-5.
In an all-Blackburn Northern affair, the Thirds beat the Fourths 20-3 and in another local derby, East Lancs Seconds won 14-9 against St Peters Burnley Firsts.
