Chorley Ladies 5 Norden Ladies 1

CHORLEY returned to winning ways after producing a five star performance to see off Norden Ladies.

The Euxton-based Ladies side started at a fast pace and took an early lead thanks to a well struck free kick from Natalie Parry.

Chorley continued to push forward looking for a second goal but they were hit with a sucker punch when Norden converted a free kick of their own.

But it was just a minor set-back for the team in orange and they regained the lead with the third successful free kick of the game - this time Ruth Harrison firing home from long range.

Chorley’s third also came from a set piece but this time it was a corner with Vicky Coope scoring following a quick one-two with Wooten.

While Norden rarely threatened after the break, Chorley had to wait until the 85th minute to grab a fourth goal when Sarah Berry headed home a Coope corner.

And just before the final whistle, a surging run from Janet Mitchell and some exquisite link up play saw Mitchell round the keeper for the goal of the game.

Chorley play host to Leeds Ladies on Sunday in what is expected to be a heated affair.
