Colne took the lead through a penalty but Burnley responded through their man of the match, James White, who finished off a good move to give Burnley the lead.

Colne refused to lie down as Matty Tindall produced a bit of magic to put Colne in and with the conversion successful they regained the lead to go in 10-7 to the good at the break.

Colne extended their lead before Burnley finally got to grips with the referee’s interpretation of the laws.

Burnley battered the line and eventually Simon Finnan got the last touch.

Sam Moussey kicked a brilliant conversion to break Colne hearts and give Burnley the narrowest of victories.
