Hutton 0 Pendle 50

PENDLE made it back to back wins and followed up last weekend’s victory over Garstang with a thumping triumph at Hutton.

Getty Schinkel’s side opened the scoring after only a few minutes when quick recycled ball found Sonny Waddington who stood up his opposite number and outpaced him to score between the posts which Rob Lawless converted.

A second try arrived soon after when a flowing move resulted with Alex Woodcock scoring under the posts and Lawless added the extras.

Liam Canning, who produced a fine performance at number eight, scored a third try for Pendle when Danny Rowland broke down the blindside and passed inside to Canning who sprinted a full 50m to touchdown in the corner.

The next two scores came from powerful centre Woodcock; the first when Waddington caught a kick off ball and fed Lawless who beat two defenders and offloaded to Woodcock who found space and scored making the score 26-0 after the conversion, His third try of the day came after Pendle won a scrum against the head and moved the ball away from contact to him to race in and score.

It was one-way traffic now andPendle’s New Zealand prop Caleb White was next on the scoresheet, smashing through the opposition defence and scored a well worked team try.

Shaye McCulloch, playing at fly half added his name to the scoresheet, side-stepping his way over the line.

The final try of the day came from Paul McGladdery.

Pendle’s hard-working forwards won another scrum against the head and the ball was passed out to the blindside where McGladdery raced onto it and crossed the try line to ground the ball in the corner.

Lawless added the extras from an incredible kick from the touchline to bring up the 50 point and maintain Pendle’s 100 per cent start.
