LOWERHOUSE Pandas Under 11s is a team made up of young players put together to gain hard ball experience.

But with the season nearly over, the experience has been that of title contenders.

The young Lowerhouse side, the club’s fourth string in this age group, currently sit on top of their division in the Lancashire League with just one game left.

While title rivals Burnley Seconds have got plenty of games in hand, the Lowerhouse players will certainly remember playing hard ball.

Of their 11 games so far, House, who are mainly made up of under nines and under 10s players, have won seven games and lost four.

So while they have tasted defeated, it has been more a season of highs rather than lows. Playing the kwik cricket format, the Pandas enjoyed a good win at Church.

The hosts were restricted to 224-3 with Simon Lee taking 2-2.

In reply, Lowerhouse scored 276-2 with George Durkin scoring an unbeaten 15 with Adil Imran (12), Annabelle Uttley (10no) and Joseph Edgar (10no) also contributing.

Durkin produced a fine all-round display as Lowerhouse beat local rivals Burnley Thirds.

Burnley scored 224-7 with Durkin claiming 2-4 then scored an unbeaten 37 with Imran (24) and Uttley (13no) contributing to their winning 294-2 total.

It was Hasan Imran’s turn to perform with both the bat and ball against Bacup.

Batting first, the Pandas scored 272-3 with Imran scoring an unbeaten 12.

Aden Mohammed top scored with 17 with Kerry Gibbins adding an unbeaten 14. Hasan then took 2-7 as Bacup Seconds were restricted to 244-2.
